The True Meaning of Christmas: The Birth of Jesus
Christmas is much more than a celebratory date; it is the time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God who came into the world to bring love, hope and salvation to humanity.
In the Catholic tradition, Christmas reminds us that God, in His infinite goodness, became man to live among us. In a humble manger, in the city of Bethlehem, was born the One who is the Light of the World and true peace for hearts.
The Gospel of Saint Luke describes this moment beautifully:
“Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord” (Lk 2:11).
In this special time, we are invited to reflect on God's love for each one of us. He made himself small and humble to teach us that true greatness lies in love, forgiveness and sharing.
May Christmas in its essence inspire us to be better: to take care of each other, to reach out to those most in need and to let Christ be reborn in our hearts every day.
