Handout: Gospel of Jesus Christ According to Matthew

It was the favorite gospel of the early Church and deals with instruction about the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven. It was written for the Jewish community and shows the fulfillment of the scriptures in the person and work of Jesus.

It is very important that we know what we are going to study. Our study is not a theological teaching nor is it of a scientific nature. We will do a spiritual study of the Word of God.

The Reader will be introduced to the writings of Matthew, who throughout his Gospel refers to the Old Testament to prove how the Law of the Prophets is fulfilled and fulfilled in their expectation, and is also brought to a perfection that crowns and surpasses them.
